The framework includes many tools to make enterprise application development easier including the Entity Engine, Service Engine, Workflow Engine, Control Servlet & other webapp components, and even an XML Mini-Language to make it easier to implement simple components and tie components together using the other framework tools.

In addition to being open source the project also uses many other open source packages and servces as a demonstration of how these technologies can be applied in real-world applications.

The application components and suite of applications in the project cover many areas of business needs, including: eCommerce (B2C & B2B), Party & Security, Product & Catalog, Order, Marketing, Facility & Inventory, Work Effort, Content & Knowledge, Accounting and others.
