Segment Two- "CGI Database development tools from .com Solutions

Tonight we will have a conversation with David Simpson executive and developer from .com Solutions Inc. Davids background includes extensive experience with Macintosh (since 1984), Linux/UNIX and Windows systems. He has been developing Perl CGI web applications since 1997 and founded .com Solutions Inc. in 1999 to provide Perl and Oracle DBA consulting services to corporate clients. In 2001 they started developing multi-platform graphical applications to incorporate their Oracle experience and knowledge within applications like Installgen and Repgen. Recent products include the FmPro Migrator and CGIScripter applications.

CGIScripter 1.48 Enterprise Edition from .com Solutions Inc. generates Perl CGI scripts for MySQL and Oracle databases. The scripts generated by CGIScripter provide automated form data validation, and auto-enter web form values while adhering to web security best practices. Critical web form processing parameters are hard-coded within each script instead of being accepted via POST or GET operations - thus preventing web form hijacking. CGIScripter is available for Linux, MacOS X, and Windows (free demo available).

CGIScripter is licensed on a site license basis for $50 in order to enable companies and educational institutions to economically standardize their development efforts on the scripts generated by CGIScripter. Testing and troubleshooting (if needed) is much easier among a group of developers if the code is written in a standardized and well documented manner - as it is with the code generated by CGIScripter. CGIScripter Enterprise Edition includes the Perl source code, so that customers may view and/or customize the code for their own needs.
